Nous sommes une nouvelle compagnie de théâtre bilingue appelée Carrefour Playback. Nous avons choisi de nommer notre entreprise Carrefour car cela signifie un espace où les communautés peuvent se rencontrer. Nous voulons promouvoir l’inclusion culturelle et linguistique à Montréal à travers des représentations bilingues du Playback Theatre, embrassant l’identité multiculturelle de la ville. En offrant un espace de narration en français et en anglais.

 

We are a new bilingual theater company called Carrefour Playback. We chose to name our business Carrefour because it signifies a space where communities can meet. We want to promote cultural and linguistic inclusion in Montreal through bilingual performances by Playback Theater, embracing the city's multicultural identity. By offering a space for narration in French and English

Abdullah Jatal

Abdullah Jatal - ou Abodi - est un travailleur en santé mentale au « Centre de crise L'Autre Maison » et au « Centre Psy Multiculturel ». Il a pratiqué la psychothérapie pendant plus de 7 ans avant de s'installer au Canada, acquérant de l'expérience en thérapie individuelle, en thérapie de groupe, en thérapie de couple et en psychologie du travail. Abdullah termine actuellement son master en dramathérapie à l'Université Concordia. Il a également cofondé la première compagnie de théâtre playback bilingue au Québec. Abodi travaille comme consultant artistique pour de nombreuses ONG et possède plus de 15 ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la formation. Il conçoit des formations basées sur le jeu pour les ONG et les entreprises. Il est acteur et formateur en théâtre depuis plus de 15 ans, se spécialisant dans le théâtre d'improvisation, le théâtre de l'opprimé et le théâtre playback. En décembre 2021, Abodi a été élu membre du conseil consultatif de l'« International Theatersports Institution » et représente désormais la région Afrique, sous-continent indien et Moyen-Orient. En décembre 2024, il est devenu président de l'ITI. Abodi est également un percussionniste polyvalent, jouant une variété d'instruments du Moyen-Orient, d'Asie centrale, d'Afrique de l'Ouest, ainsi que du bodhrán irlandais.

Abdullah Jatal - or Abodi - is a mental health worker at "L'Autre Maison Crisis Centre" and "Centre Psy Multicultural". He has practiced psychotherapy for more than 7 years before moving to Canada gaining experience in Individual Therapy- Group Therapy- Couples Therapy- and Workplace Psychology. Abdullah is finishing his master's degree in Drama Therapy at Concordia University. And has co-founded the first bilingual playback theater company in Quebec. Abodi works as an artistic consultant for many NGOs, he has more than 15 years of experience in the training field. He designs game-based training for NGOs and Companies. He has been an actor and theater trainer for more than 15 years now, specializing in improvisational theater, theater of the oppressed, and playback theater. In December 2021 Abodi was elected as an Advisory Board member of the "International Theatersoprts Institution" and now he is the representative of the Africa Indian subcontinent and the Middle East Region. And in December 2024 in became the president of the ITI. Abodi is a diverse percussionist, playing a variety of instruments from the Middle East, Central Asia, West Africa, and on Irish bodhran

ELIE YABROUDI

Elie Yabroudi est un artiste passionné de théâtre et de cinéma (acteur-metteur en scène) avec sept ans d'expérience dans le théâtre interactif pour les enfants.
Il a travaillé sur des productions en Syrie et à Montréal, notamment Illuminated Star, en Syrie. Cerise à Montréal avec le Quartier des Arts de Hatem Ali. Son travail est motivé par un engagement envers la créativité, la collaboration, la profondeur émotionnelle, la croissance personnelle et l'établissement de liens significatifs avec le public.

Elie Yabroudi is a passionate theatre and film artist (actor-director) with seven years of experience in interactive theatre for children. He has worked on productions in Syria and Montreal, including Illuminated Star, Syria. Cerise, Montreal with Quartier des Arts de Hatem Ali. His work is driven by a commitment to creativity, collaboration, emotional depth, personal growth and connecting with audiences in meaningful ways.

 

ELISABETH COUTURE

Elisabeth Couture (Ph.D. Université Laval) a enseigné au département de théâtre de l’Université Concordia pendant 25 ans. Elle est formatrice agrée du Centre de théâtre playback et psychodramatiste diplômée (PEF) du Centre international de psychothérapie expressive. Praticienne de Théâtre Playback depuis 18 ans, elle a fondé l’École de Théâtre Playback du Québec en 2019.

 

 

 

Elisabeth Couture(Ph.D. Laval University) has been teaching in the Theatre Department of Concordia University for 25 years. She is a playback theatre trainer, accredited by the Center for Playback Theatre and a psychodramatist, graduate (TEP) from the Centre international de thérapies expressives. Playback theatre practitioner for 18 years, she founded the Playback School of Quebec in 2019.

 

GENEVIEVE FUOCO

Diplômée de l’UQAM, Geneviève Fuoco, actrice (UDA), elle développe tôt son intérêt pour le théâtre de mouvement.  Robert Dion (Dynamo Théâtre) l’encourage à poursuivre sa formation à L’école Jacques Lecoq à Paris. Elle profite de son séjour en France pour se perfectionner auprès d’Ariane Mnouchkine et le Théâtre du Soleil. Puis, elle entame une maîtrise en arts de la scène à l’Université Laval. Geneviève Fuoco a aussi une Maitrise en Travail social et intervient auprès des personnes en santé mentale. Elle s’inspire de ce qui l’entoure en ouvrant la voie à ces voix qu’on entend trop peu et a écrit deux pièces de théâtre : Sea Von Slamm et Le temps nous est gare. De plus, ses talents de conceptrice et d’illustratrice ont été mis à contribution dans une œuvre collective rePairEs. Le vocabulaire amoureux du Travail social. » ainsi que le livre Le Travail social, une profession d’inter+actions. Mieux comprendre la personne et mieux intervenir.

 

 

A graduate of UQAM, Geneviève Fuoco, actress (UDA), developed her interest in movement theater early on.  Robert Dion (Dynamo Théâtre) encouraged him to continue his training at the Jacques Lecoq school in Paris. She took advantage of her stay in France to perfect her skills with Ariane Mnouchkine and the Théâtre du Soleil. Then, she began a master’s degree in performing arts at Laval University. Geneviève Fuoco also has a Master's degree in Social Work and works with people in mental health. She draws inspiration from what surrounds her by paving the way for these voices that we hear too little and has written two plays: Sea Von Slamm and Le temps nous est gare. In addition, her talents as a designer and illustrator were used in a collective work rePairEs. The loving vocabulary of social work. » as well as the book Social Work, a profession of interaction. Better understand the person and intervene better.

LEIGH BULMER

Leigh Bulmer est ravie de faire partie du nouveau groupe de théâtre bilingue « Carrefour Playback ». Elle est dramathérapeute en pratique privée à Greenfield Park et orthopédagogue à la Commission scolaire Riverside. Elle possède 30 ans d'expérience en enseignement et est diplômée du programme d'arts créatifs de l'Université Concordia en 2000. Dans sa pratique thérapeutique, elle utilise le théâtre, le bac à sable, l'expérience somatique et la thérapie narrative. Avec ARC - Assistance and Referral Services à Greenfield Park, elle a animé des ateliers de dramathérapie pour les soignants, les groupes de deuil et les familles. À son école, Harold Napper, à Brossard, elle a noué des liens avec le Conseil de lecture de la Rive-Sud et Sino-Québec de la Rive-Sud, qui offre des services à la communauté chinoise. Elle est impliquée dans le Playback depuis 25 ans au sein de la Montreal Playback Theatre Company. Elle s'est produite en tant qu'actrice et animatrice devant des publics d'hôpitaux, de résidences pour personnes âgées, d'écoles, d'universités et de centres de répit communautaires. Au Fringe Festival 2023, elle a participé à la performance Personal/Universal Playback (6 spectacles). Elle est membre du théâtre communautaire Théâtre Saint-Bruno Players et a joué dans les productions de The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (automne 2023), Wyrd Sisters (automne 2022) et 39 Steps (automne 2011).

 

Leigh Bulmer is excited to be a part of the newly establish Bilingual Playback company “Carrefour Playback”. She is a Drama Therapist working in private practice in Greenfield Park and a resource teacher at Riverside School Board. She has 30 years of teaching experience and graduated from the Concordia Creative Arts Program in 2000. In her therapy practice she uses drama, sand tray, Somatic Experiencing and Narrative Therapy. With ARC - Assistance and Referral Services in Greenfield Park, she has conducted drama therapy workshops for caregivers, grief groups and families. At her school, Harold Napper in Brossard, she has made connections with the South Shore Reading Council and Sino-Quebec de la Rive-Sud that offers services to the Chinese community. She has been involved with playback for 25 years with the Montreal Playback Theatre Company. She has performed as an actor and conductor for audiences in hospitals, elderly residences, schools, universities, and community respite centres. At the 2023 Fringe Festival, she was a part of the Personal/Universal Playback performance (6 shows). She is a member of the Theatre Saint-Bruno Players community theatre and has performed in productions of The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (Fall 2023), Wyrd Sisters (Fall 2022) and 39 Steps (Fall 2011).

PASCALE JALLOUF

Pascale Jallouf est une artiste de performance syro-canadienne basée à Montréal. Diplômée de la Lebanese American University en art de la performance, spécialisée en théâtre et musique, elle est profondément passionnée par le pouvoir transformateur du récit. Forte d’une expérience de terrain auprès des femmes et des enfants réfugiés, Pascale puise dans des expériences variées pour explorer les thèmes de l’identité, de la résilience et du patrimoine culturel à travers son travail. Elle cherche à créer des connexions significatives et à inspirer par l’art de la performance.

Pascale Jallouf is a Syrian Canadian performance artist based in Montreal. A graduate of the Lebanese American University with a degree in performance art, specializing in theatre and music, she is deeply passionate about storytelling and its transformative power. With a strong background in fieldwork with refugee women and children, Pascale draws on diverse experiences to explore themes of identity, resilience, and cultural heritage in her work, aiming to create meaningful connections and inspire through the art of performance.

TAMARA KRAMER

Tamara Kramer travaille comme professionnelle des médias et a animé sa propre émission de radio depuis plus de 10 ans. Elle a vécu et travaillé comme journaliste au Canada, en Israël, en Palestine, en Afrique du Sud et en Europe. Elle a également passé de nombreuses années à travailler dans le secteur à but non lucratif au sein d’ONG culturelles, éducatives et de consolidation de la paix en Amérique du Nord et du Sud, en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient. Elle aime parler avec des inconnus, produire et animer des événements et des spectacles en direct et modérer des discussions publiques sur les arts, la culture et la communauté. Elle est actuellement directrice de la programmation d'un organisme communautaire à Montréal.

Tamara Kramer has worked as a media professional, hosting her own radio show and podcast for over 10 years. She has lived and worked as a journalist in Canada, Israel, Palestine, South Africa and Europe. She has also spent many years working in the non-profit sector in cultural, educational and peacebuilding NGO’s in North and South America, in Africa and in the Middle East. She loves to speak with strangers, to produce and host live events and shows and to moderate public discussions on the arts, culture and community. She is currently the Director of Programming for a community organisation in Montreal.
